Dr. John M.A.Oyiborhoro, Ed.D., FAAA., CCC-A.
Dr. Oyiborhoro is founder and director of Boro Audiology Clinic and has been providing quality audiological services to the community in the New York City area and Long Island for the past 25 years.
Dr. John Oyiborhoro obtained his doctoral degree from Columbia University in New York City. Dr. Oyiborhoro was Director of Audiology at the United Cerebral Palsy of New York City, Inc. for more than twelve years. He was an Audiology consultant for the National Institute for People with Disabilities in New York City, and he served as an Associate Professor of Audiology at Pace University in New York City for nearly a decade.
Dr. Oyiborhoro made several academic presentations nationally in the US, Canada, Japan, Australia, Czech Republic and Argentina to name a few and has published widely in peer reviewed medical, science and hearing healthcare journals. In 2001, Dr. Oyiborhoro was invited by the world’s largest publisher of medical and science books and journals to write a highly specialized book in Audiology, “Aural Rehabilitation of People with Disabilities” published in 2005 for clinicians and graduate students.
In his spare time, Dr. Oyiborhoro conducts annual charity missions abroad to provide free hearing services to underserved populations especially in the Niger Delta area of Nigeria. In addition, Dr. Oyiborhoro provides pro bono consulting services related to the development and implementation of hearing conservation programs for pre-school children in the New York City community.
Dr. Debra Wantuch, Au.D, FAAA, CCC-A
Dr. Debra Wantuch earned her Bachelor of Science degree from Queens College and her Master of Science Degree from Columbia University, Teachers College. She obtained her Doctorate in Audiology from AT Still University in Mesa, Arizona.
Dr. Wantuch has over 25 years of experience in the field of audiology. She was Corporate Director of Speech and Hearing at St. Lukes/Roosevelt Hospital for 10 years and later worked as an audiology consultant in a variety of healthcare and rehabilitation centers and hospitals. She has extensive experience working with the elderly in long term care facilities. Dr. Wantuch joined the staff of Boro Audiology in 2013 and specializes in difficult hearing aid fittings.
In her spare time, Dr. Wantuch is founder and president of an animal rescue organization called “Give Me Shelter Project”.
